Who I am
Professional translator, language expert, passionate and inspirational individual. I hold a TELF Certificate, a Master’s Degree, a Postgraduate Diploma and a Bachelor’s degree from British and Italian institutions. I am bilingual in Italian and English and I also speak, at various degrees of fluency, Spanish (fluent), French (fluent) Czech (learning it), Portuguese (intermediate), German and Latin (scholastic/academical). I love languages and I am fascinated by how they are constructed and work, hence my passion for translation and language teaching.
I was born and raised in Italy and moved to London in 2004, where I have lived since.
I like to spend my free time with my wife, we both volunteer at Keats Library in Hampstead, we are both voracious readers, or we just like to wander around London.
Your learning path
Initial assessment
At this stage we will get to know each other, we will discuss the reasons for wanting to learn Italian, we will assess the level of the language and we will outline our future work together. The teacher will then prepare a detailed learning plan.
Goals definition
Based on the initial assessment, we will set the course objectives, decide how they will be specifically achieved and work out a time schedule.
Continual support
Beyond the lessons, the teacher will be there to support you with learning material to use outside of the classroom, suggestions to improve your learning between one class and the next and full availability to answer doubts, questions or curiosities.
Regular evaluations
Your learning path will be regularly assessed, at the end of each class and then according to the frequency agreed at the start of the course. We will highlight the positives and the opportunities for improvement, with directions to keep on the right path and revisions of the learning plan where needed.
Results achieved
At the end of the agreed time frame, we will celebrate the achievements and plan the following steps towards a more advanced level.
The learning options
A range of options are available to offer students a good fit to their needs. Individual lessons, shared lessons, group lessons, conversation practice and more. The length of a lesson can also be adjusted to your preference. Prices vary depending on the lesson type. Click here for a full price list or call me to find out all the details.
Individual lesson
The basic option, where the student works individually with the teacher and benefits from his full focus and support. Particularly recommended to those who don’t have any previous knowledge of the Italian language.
Shared lesson
For those who prefer and have the chance to learn with a fellow student. This option is a two-people lesson, and the student is responsible to find his/her companion. The shared lesson also means a hefty amount of money saved, as well as a better possibility of interaction.
Full course
This option offers the chance to plan in advance a specific number of lessons (25 or 50). The main advantage is the huge saving (compared to a similar amount of individual lessons), but to remember are also the increased sense of responsibility to stick to one’s commitment and the possibility of a more solid and structured learning plan.
